1976 Volkswagen Westfalia Campmobile Bus

Partial restorated 1976 Westfalia “Campmobile” bus. Bus purchased from Heber Utah over a year ago with rust behind wheel wells, but the rest of the bus is rust free and has original paint that will buff out like new. It has the 1.6L Transverse 4-cylinder engine that has been converted to a single carb by the previous owner. Tune up was done by the previous owner by Wayne’s VW in SLC Utah. Bus runs smoothly and starts right up. It’s in good working condition and this bus can be used as a daily driver.

Exterior paint is the original Marinogelb yellow paint (L 20 A paint code). Most of the bus came with the original 70s interior on the ZBed, upper bunk bed and engine cover in the back, I reupholstered the front seats with the original yellow plaid seat covers from NLA VW Parts imported from England. Installed with new foam seat pads so it is incredibly comfortable. Under the seats have the rubber seal for sound deadening. Installed rubber front floor mat and walk through rubber mat as well. On top of the mats are brand new green carpet floor mat and walk through floor mat. Installed brand new steering wheel original to year and front foot black kick panels to cover up front of bus underneath in the interior. The bus does come with the original yellow canvas material for the upper bunk area, no huge rips or tears.

Installed new headlight chrome rings, new side markers, new tail light covers and bulbs. The lights, turn signals, windshield wipers, and brake lights all work. Brand new original side muffler installed, but kept the old dual pipe muffler that will come with the bus if you want to replace it back. Also purchase an original kid cot that installs over the driver and passenger front seats. Installed new door panels in green vinyl. Also purchased some panels for the sliding door and rear tail lift gate panel that I recently installed, making it look like new.

Bus came with brand new general grabber off road tires and I took the old steel wheels with the front and back bumpers to a local powder coating company and had them all done in flat white, so it looks incredible. The bus also didn’t come with any of the original camper interior except for head banger upper cabinet over back engine compartment and Z bed, but I searched down for over 8 months all the original interior and found it from a bus guru outside of Vegas named Lee Dagger, and I did place all closet, fridge compartment and sink cabinet inside the van. The original cabinets that I purchased are solid and have all the parts, but the laminate is peeling so I did purchase the original Berlin wood laminate and it will come with the bus. I also found the pull out table that presides over the fridge cabinet, and that is installed and ready to be used as well. So extras that i have purchased or have not installed are:

Metal floor edging for back of cargo carpet behind seats as well as slider door floor trim

Brand new rear tail light housings
Dual pipe muffler
Kid cot

I also purchased a reproduction awning with poles that can be installed at the campsite, which attach to the rain gutter of the bus. It is in the original packaging and has never been used yet.

This bus is almost complete and ready to be used! I took it almost all the way to the finish line, but I have other projects lining up that I need to make room for. I hate to get rid of her, but sometimes we need to move on. Please text me for any questions and I will respond quickly.
